Aldon Smith continues to test the fate of his NFL Career.

Over the last few years the NFL has seen its fair share of embarrassing situations — from Tom Brady and the New England Patriots’ “Deflategate” case to domestic violence situations caught on tape. But above all the league has been dealing with several attacks to their substance abuse policy by athletes with talent that many thought could have Hall of Fame potential.

Josh Gordon (Cleveland Browns) and Le’Veon Bell (Pittsburgh Steelers) stick out because they are top-tier players who refuse to shake their marijuana habits. And on a lower scale, Martavis Bryant can also be tossed in there after taking another suspension that will sit the Steelers wide receiver for a full year. However the biggest potential star taking a fall under the radar is the Oakland Raiders’ Aldon Smith.

After putting up monster numbers for his former San Francisco 49ers and being arrested for everything from illegal possession of an assault weapon to several cases of driving under the influence, Smith has been quietly serving a yearlong suspension for substance abuse. That is until he decided to unleash a faceless new post on Periscope.

(Expletive deleted), they don’t know it’s me. It’s not like I put “Aldon Smith”…"

From all reports, the voice is Smith’s, the account is one that he often uses and the man says his own name before the video of him with a hand-rolled cigarette cuts off. Unless this is his version of a  joke, the NFL could have him sitting closer to Gordon and Johnny Manziel than Von Miller and J.J. Watt.
