Actor Matthew McConaughey has been quite visible at the Rio Olympics this summer in Brazil. The star of “Interstellar” and “True Detective” recently stopped by the set for the “Olympic Late Night” show. He eventually got into a “battle” with one of the athletes. NBC Olympics host Ryan Seacrest posted a photo of the actor, showing him grappling with Team USA Rugby star Jillion Potter.
It was all in good fun as McConaughey is currently at the Olympics as a spectator and not really promoting. The star actor was seen with his wife Camila Alves having lunch this past Tuesday in Rio and then walking on Arpoador Beach.

McConaughey is proving himself to be quite the supporter for Team USA at the Summer Games in Rio. He’s been most visible during rugby events, as he’s been a spectator for Team USA’s teams. In addition, the actor was seen rooting on the participants in the swim finals this past Monday night. All the while, he’s been sporting a supportive USA shirt with Olympic rings on it.
McConaughey has reportedly been more than generous with his time too as he met the USA Women’s Rugby team and posed for a photo with them. It’s great to see McConaughey humble enough to enjoy himself as an Olympics spectator and try to bring the team some extra support. Let’s just hope neither he nor Potter suffered any injuries in their “made for TV” scuffle.
