In case you felt like your Pokemon GO experience was incomplete without a $35 peripheral to use along with it, you’ll get your chance to rectify that next week.

The Pokemon GO Plus was delayed form its initial July release window, but didn’t immediately get a more solid launch date. Now it has one.

And it’s soon, too. As reported by Fortune, Niantic and Nintendo have revealed that the device will be available in “most countries” on September 16.

Actually acquiring one could be a bit more of an issue, because pre-orders are sold out in most places and there aren’t likely to be any sitting around on store shelves right away. Yes, even with Pokemon GO fading a bit in popularity over the last few weeks.

What can you do with the Pokemon GO Plus? This official blog post explains in more detail, but the TL;DR version is that it will allow you to perform some in-game actions and receive notifications without actually getting out your phone. You can even collect items from PokeStops and catch Pokemon with the device, though it’s not clear yet exactly how those processes work.

It sounds like South America will be the only large region where the Pokemon GO Plus won’t be launching right away, but that’s consistent with the slow roll-out of the game that took place there as well. In the meantime, if you can’t get your hands on a Plus but do have an Apple Watch, you can look forward to the version of the game for that device that was shown off at this week’s Apple event.
