NFL DFS: Week 1 Recap

Week 1 of the 2016 NFL fantasy football season is in the books.  We had some exciting games which lead to some pretty high DFS scores.  Let’s recap how our cash and tourney lineups did.  First of all, I would like to apologize for a HUGE mistake I made on the cash game lineup.  I completely overlooked the kicking situation in New Orleans and gave out Kai Forbath instead of Wil Lutz.  I goofed big time…..but the good news here is the lineup still put up 125 points and cashed for me across the board!

The biggest disappointment in this lineup was Adrian Peterson only scoring 3.1 points against the Tennessee Titans.  The high scorer was Brandin Cooks with 30.4 points with his 6 catches for 143 yards and 2 touchdowns.  The best value was clearly Spencer Ware who put up 29.4 points at the low price of $5,400.  Ware was huge in the passing game hauling in 7 passes for 129 yards.  He also rushed for 70 yards and a TD.

We did not have as much success with the GPP lineup, but it will be like that sometimes.  If we can hit 1 out of every 4 GPP lineups we will be in good shape.  The lineups that won this weekend were pretty chalky.  The popular plays came through, and when that happens I will not be on the winning side.  There were several disappointments with the GPP lineup.  Kirk Cousins just couldn’t get any passes into the end zone but threw for 329 yards, he also threw 2 picks.  Eddie Lacy looked better than he did last year, but finished with 61 rushing yards and failed to score a TD.

Tavon Austin was part of that embarrassing performance the Los Angeles Rams threw up against the San Francisco 49ers.  Jordan Cameron failed to show up as well, along with the entire Miami Dolphins offense.  Looking ahead to week 2, the scoring should come down a little with the price adjustments Fanduel will make.

I’ll be back before Sunday with some more winning lineups.  Each week I will give a Cash game and GPP lineup for the Sun-Mon main slate on Fanduel, in case you want to reserve your place in some contests in advance.  I will also be adding Cash and GPP lineups for the Draftkings main slate this week as well.
