Theo Walcott has just scored an absolute scorcher for Arsenal, adding his and the side’s second of the night against Swiss side Basel.

Arsenal and Theo Walcott are in scintillating form. Against a Basel side that has enjoyed great success against British clubs in the past, causing Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea many problems in the past, Arsene Wenger’s side have played on the front foot emulating their blitzing of Chelsea themselves at the weekend.

Walcott scored the first with a thumping header after Santi Cazorla had delightfully clipped Sanchez down the inside left channel who simply dinked a hopeful ball into the penalty area. While the first was magnificently ruthless, built upon the want and desire of both Sanchez and Walcott, the second was utterly scintillating.

Down the right flank, Walcott has been causing all sorts of problems and once again, his link up play with Sanchez once again ripping the Basel defence to shreds. The second came when Theo picked up the ball wide on the right, drove forward, played the ball inside to Sanchez and darted forward, looking for the space in behind.

The Chilean duly found him and in a calm and composed fashion that has rarely been seen in Theo’s game for some time, he simply powers the ball with precision and accuracy into the far bottom left corner, past the outstretched hand of the helpless goalkeeper.

Arsenal have been utterly fantastic, epitomised by the performance of Theo Walcott down that right flank.
