Tyson Gay’s daughter tragically killed in Kentucky

United States Olympic Sprinter, Tyson Gay, daughter Trinity was murdered Sunday in a tragic shooting in Lexington, Kentucky.

Trinity Gay, the daughter of Olympic sprinter Tyson Gay was fatally shot in Lexington, Kentucky.
Police in Lexington said Gay was struck in the neck, and later died at a local hospital. The incident occurred in a restaurant parking lot while two vehicles exchanged gunfire. Reports state that Gay was not in the car during the fracas.

According to WKYT, a local news station in Kentucky, noted that Trinity was a rising track star as she ran on the team at Lafayette High School. As stated by MileSplit, Trinity was a state runner-up in middle school in the 100 meters.

Recently, she was the Region 6AAA champion in the 200 meters last spring and placed fourth at the state meet in the 100 meters.

In a statement, Fayette County Schools Superintendent Manny Caulk said.

“Our hearts are broken this morning over the loss of Trinity to this tragic and senseless act of violence. Please join us in keeping the Gay family close in thought and prayer and supporting the students, staff, and families at Lafayette High during this unspeakably difficult time.”
