Adelaide. Terrance Ferguson. 16. player. 64. Stan Van Gundy is slowly molding the Detroit Pistons to his liking, building a four out offense around powerful center Andre Drummond while utilizing his pick-and-roll skills to create a potent offensive attack. To help leverage Drummond to the best of his ability, Van Gundy needs his perimeter players to be able to spread the floor around the big man.
Terrance Ferguson, an 18-year old wing once committed to Arizona, but currently playing professionally in Australia, fits the bill nicely. In five games with Adelaide, Ferguson is averaging 7.4 points per game and has connected on six of his 14 three-point attempts. As he showed at the Nike Hoop Summit, Ferguson has the ability to knock down triples in droves when he’s in the zone.

At 6-foot-7 with a 6-foot-11 wingspan, Ferguson also has the tools to be a good defender at the next level. The biggest question, though, is whether or not he can fill out his frame with enough muscle to do battle with some of the league’s bigger wing players. If he can do that and he’s willing to exert good effort on the defensive end, then Ferguson can be one of the top 3-and-D prospects in the class making him an excellent fit for what Van Gundy is building in Detroit.
.
