Cubs outfielder Chris Coghlan and his wife Corrie have had quite a ride this baseball season but what has made this year even sweeter is the newest member of their family, Judge.

I recently sat down with Corrie and Judge to talk about the Cubs crazy playoff and World Series run as well as becoming new parents through adoption.

The Coghlan’s wanted to grow their family starting in 2014 and after two years of trying, they decided to start the adoption process. Once everything was completed they got a different kind of call and became parents to Judge 20 days later in December of 2015.

After one unexpected surprise came another with the 2016 baseball season. The Coghlan’s started the year with the Cubs before being traded to the Oakland A’s at the end of Spring Training. Much to their surprise Chris was traded back to the Cubs over the summer and the three were thrilled to return to the Chicago, a city they consider a second home.

Since then its been icing on the cake with the Cubs historic Playoff and World Series run, and to have Judge with them as made it all the more special. Corrie and Judge don’t miss a game and she can’t imagine watching the Cubs without her little buddy. Even though there is baseball being played it’s Judge who ultimately steals the show. Corrie says that this year “it seems like the World Series of all World Series” and they still can’t believe it’s happening. Once the World Series is over, “hopefully after a cubs win”, the Coghlan’s will return to their home in Alabama and look to start the adoption process once again.

Following the 2016 season Chris will become a free agent. While his future in baseball is unknown for the time being Chris, Corrie and Judge are living in the moment and enjoying the ride.
