Get ready for all of the Nintendo nostalgia at Universal Studios. We already knew that attractions were in the works, but now there’s a name.

Luckily for Japan, Universal Studios Japan will be the first theme park to receive these Nintendo attractions. But, it may be more extensive than we could have imagined. It looks like they’ll be creating a whole other theme park with Super Nintendo World.

Back in 2015, Nintendo announced that theme park attractions were in the works for Universal Studios. This was, by far, some of the best news of the year and things seem to be going along fairly quickly.

We weren’t sure to what extent Universal was going to go with these Nintendo attractions. But, they seem fully committed to creating an immersive world full of Nintendo themes and characters.

At first, we thought that they would just create a section in the parks dedicated to Nintendo. But, according to WMG, Universal is actually looking to build a whole other park for Nintendo. This is incredible news.

In all honesty, this is the way to go. Universal needs to take full advantage of this property and push it to the extreme. We would truly be bummed out if they only dedicated a portion of their land to Nintendo.

Nintendo definitely deserves an immersive world to come to life based on their numerous video games and the characters involved. If there’s any company that would transition perfectly into a theme park attraction, it’s Nintendo.

Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait a few years since the new world will first be coming to Universal Studios Japan before the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. It will be more of an exhibit. We hope that they do the same for Universal Parks & Resorts, but it doesn’t seem that way so far.

In a press release, Nintendo stated, “Super Nintendo World will be comprised of expansive and multi-level environments filled with unprecedented, state-of-the-art rides, interactive areas, shops and restaurants, all featuring Nintendo’s most popular characters and game.”
