Is Professor X in Logan? We let you know if Sir Patrick Stewart’s iconic X-Men character makes an appearance in Hugh Jackman’s last Wolverine film.

Is Professor X in the upcoming third — and final — Wolverine movie Logan? Fans have been asking if Sir Patrick Stewart’s telepathic leader of the X-Men will make an appearance in Hugh Jackman’s swan song, given the lengthy connection between the two characters.

So is Professor X in Logan? Yes, he is. You can even catch a glimpse of Stewart in the role when you watch the movie’s trailer. He provides the trailer’s opening voiceover and then he is later seen riding in the backseat of a vehicle that Logan takes for a very rough ride.

This isn’t the same Professor X from movies past, however. This latest film takes place in a bleak post-apocalyptic world where Charles Xavier’s best days are behind him. His health is failing and he’s being cared for by Logan and Caliban (played by The Office star Stephen Merchant).

But he’s still a major character in Logan, so if you’re a fan of Stewart or his portrayal of Professor X, you definitely want to make your way to the movie theater for the new film.

After all, it’s not just Hugh Jackman’s last movie in the X-Men series; it’s Stewart’s, too. The actor announced earlier this month that he will not reprise the role of Professor X for any future X-Men films.

“There will never be a better, a more perfect, a more sensitive, emotional and beautiful way of saying au revoir to Charles Xavier than this film,” he declared. He will definitely be missed.

The appearance of Professor X in Logan will certainly help close out the Wolverine trilogy in style. Look for him when Logan opens this Friday, March 3 with select advance screenings on Thursday, March 2.
