Is Logan in IMAX? We let you know if Hugh Jackman’s last Wolverine film Logan’is being shown on the big, big screen when it releases this week.

Is Logan in IMAX? With the new movie being Hugh Jackman’s last Wolverine picture as well as the latest Marvel film, it would seem a no-brainer for movie theaters to present it with IMAX’s top tier picture.

And so that’s exactly what’s happening. Logan is in IMAX and will be offered in the higher format starting with the film’s advance screenings on Thursday, March 2. It will also be available in IMAX when the movie officially opens on Friday, March 3.

You can find out which theaters are presenting the movie in IMAX, and get showtimes and tickets, by clicking here.

Marvel Studios has long presented their blockbuster Marvel Cinematic Universe films in IMAX. The studio shot a handful of sequences in last year’s Captain America: Civil War in the upgraded format, and the highly anticipated Avengers: Infinity War movie is being shot entirely in IMAX.

That preference extends to the recent X-Men movies as well. X-Men: Apocalypse launched in IMAX when it premiered last year.

Given the fact that Logan is yet another massive investment for Marvel, as well as massively important to the fans (both Jackman and Patrick Stewart are stepping away from the X-Men franchise with this movie), it makes perfect sense to pull out all the stops for its presentation and show Logan in IMAX.

Not to mention that it’s also an incredibly long film at over two hours, so if you’re going to keep fans in a movie theater that long, why not give them the best possible experience?

Other upcoming films getting the IMAX treatment include Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, DC’s Wonder Woman and Universal’s The Fate of the Furious. You can see a full list of future IMAX releases here.
