Sadly, The Lost Legacy will probably be the last Uncharted game

Developer Naughty Dog is leaning towards moving on from the Uncharted series after The Lost Legacy. On the bright side, they have other ideas cooking.

If you’re hoping for another Uncharted game after The Lost Legacy, then you’re probably out of luck. In an interview with Game Informer, co-president of Naughty Dog, Evan Wells touches on the likelihood of another entry in the series.

"I would say that Naughty Dog doing an Uncharted after this is unlikely. I would never say never, but we’ve got The Last of Us Part II on our plates and there’s so much other stuff that we want to explore. It’d be hard."

Back in the day, Naughty Dog was known for developing games like Crash Bandicoot and Jak & Daxter. Most recently, though, they’ve gone a completely different direction with their games when it comes to realism and tone. The Uncharted series is the perfect example.

When you think of a video game series that’s extremely successful, the Uncharted series is one that comes to mind. It’s rare that four games in a single franchise are all critically acclaimed. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is spectacular and we’re glad that The Lost Legacy is happening.

We’ll get to see a fan-favorite character return and be the main protagonist. However, at the same time, we’re a bit sad that the chances of another game are highly unlikely.

On the bright side, we have The Last of Us Part II to look forward to. The Last of Us is one of the best games of all-time, without a doubt. With the ending leaving us wanting more, we figured a sequel would eventually happen down the line.

It’s probably still ways off from a release date, but we’ll be here patiently waiting for that masterpiece. We’re also game for whatever Naughty Dog wants to do in the future. Whether it’s another Uncharted game or a new IP entirely, it should be fun.
