WWE WrestleMania 33 takes place this Sunday, and they have built a stacked card but it could have been a whole lot better.

We are only days away from the biggest show of the year for WWE. WrestleMania 33 comes live from the Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida, with a whole host of stars set to step into the ring on the night.

WrestleMania is traditionally the event where a lot of feuds come to an end, and the new direction for the company becomes clearer for the upcoming year. That will be the case again this year, with some of the biggest stars in the world of professional wrestling set to face off inside a WWE ring once again.

The top matches see Goldberg and Brock Lesnar go head-to-head for the WWE Universal Championship, Bray Wyatt defends his WWE Championship against former friend Randy Orton and Seth Rollins faces Triple H in an unsanctioned match. But things could have been a whole lot different.

Fans around the world love to speculate on which matches will take place, which big stars may make an appearance on the show, or who will walk away victorious on the grandest stage of them all. Many of those fans will also feel that they could very well have booked better feuds and angles than the WWE is presenting.

WrestleMania 33 feels like one of the most underwhelming WrestleMania’s we’ve seen for a few years. Of the big matches, there’s nothing that stands out massively as a potential show stealer, but you know that everyone on the card will strive to put on the best show possible.

One of the main reasons this WrestleMania could be called underwhelming is the fact that WWE has so much fantastic talent at their disposal, but haven’t really offered up a string of blockbuster matchups. What we hope to do here is give you five feuds that could have taken place to make the WrestleMania 33 card a little bit more interesting.

Kevin Owens vs Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship

As it stands we are set to see Brock Lesnar face Goldberg for the Universal Championship. Kevin Owens is going head-to-head with his former best friend Chris Jericho, with the WWE United States Championship on the line. Things could have been very different though, with the chance to elevate Owens to a whole new level.

Kevin Owens has been the best all around talent on WWE TV for a long time now. He won the Universal Championship after the unfortunate injury to Finn Balor, and held it for months, before his defeat in less than 30 seconds to Goldberg back at Fastlane. That match was a total waste of Owens.

If Owens had retained his title at the Royal Rumble, he could have then turned his sights to beating the biggest threat in the company. Lesnar will always be treated as a big deal by WWE, as he is a main event draw unlike any other. These two men could have produced absolute gold if they were to square off in the ring.

A feud between them both could also have seen us presented with the mouth-watering prospect of some Owens vs. Paul Heyman verbal jousting on the microphone. That would have been more than enough to carry any feud between Owens and Lesnar.

If we had seen Owens and Lesnar square off, it could have been a perfect opportunity to push Owens even higher than he already sits on the WWE totem pole. Owens may have held the Universal Championship, but he will always be seen a step below men like Lesnar and Goldberg.
