Following the main event of NXT TakeOver: Orlando, Shinsuke Nakamura appeared to say goodbye to the NXT crowd.

After what was a grueling main event to the NXT TakeOver: Orlando live special, Shinsuke Nakamura lead the crowd in a rendition of his theme music, in what appears to be his final goodbye to the NXT brand.

Nakamura had just been on the losing end of his NXT Championship re-match against Bobby Roode. The match saw Roode retain the title he won from Nakamura back at TakeOver: San Antonio over the Royal Rumble weekend back in January. It’s almost exactly one year since Nakamura debuted in NXT, with his first match being a win over Sami Zayn at TakeOver: Dallas prior to WrestleMania 32.

With WrestleMania 33 set to take place on Sunday night, the speculation will begin to fly around that Nakamura may make an appearance on the biggest show of the year for the WWE. If he fails to show up inside the Camping World Stadium, then the following night’s episode of RAW would be a good bet to see Nakamura finally make his step up to the WWE main roster.

At the current time, the smart money could be on Nakamura making his debut on Tuesday night, during the next episode of SmackDown Live. The SmackDown Live brand may need some new main event talent. With the possibility that John Cena may take more time off after WrestleMania, Nakamura could be a great opponent for the likes of AJ Styles or Bray Wyatt on the blue brand.

The now 37-year-old Nakamura has spent the last year in NXT, but had a stellar career in New Japan Pro Wrestling prior to that. Many fans felt he was too much of a star to start his WWE career in NXT, but his time in the supposed developmental brand, may have helped him adapt to the WWE schedule and the American crowd as a whole.

WWE is the biggest Sports Entertainment brand in the world, now the man who is seen as one of the best professional wrestlers in the world could very well be about to star on their biggest shows.
