Swansea enter Saturday’s game against Stoke in the relegation zone, two points behind Hull and safety. Stoke sit comfortable in the middle of the table after they snapped their four-game losing streak last week.
Xherdan Shaqiri was excellent for the Potters against Hull. The Swiss international set up Marko Arnautovic’s goal in the sixth minute. In the 66th minute, Peter Crouch headed in a goal for Stoke. Shaqiri sealed the game with an incredible strike from outside of the box that went in off of the crossbar. Hull were lucky they only lost 3-1. After missing several games with an injury, Shaqiri returned and showed how offensively creative and entertaining he can be.
Swansea were defeated by Watford 1-0 in their previous game. A brutal giveaway by the Swansea defense led to Etienne Capoue’s game-winning goal. Fernando Llorente returned to the Swans lineup after dealing with injuries. Swansea keeper Lukasz Fabianski continues to be great in net for the Swans and comes up with a few big saves every week. Outside of Gylfi Sigurdsson, Swansea are not able to create enough offensive chances. The Swans are looking more likely to be relegated every week.
