WWE Payback 2017 results: The Hardy Boyz vs Cesaro and Sheamus video highlights

Jeff and Matt Hardy defended the RAW Tag Team Championship that they won at WrestleMania 33 on Sunday night at WWE Payback against Cesaro and Sheamus. How did the Broken Brothers fare in their first title defense?

On Sunday night at WWE Payback, San Jose was treated to a DELIGHTFUL encounter for the RAW Tag Team Championship between The Hardy Boyz and Cesaro and Sheamus.

The Broken Broth … er, Matt and Jeff Hardy, returned to WWE at WrestleMania 33 and made the scheduled Triple Threat tag team match a Fatal Four-Way match and walked away with the gold in Orlando.

In their first title defense, the Hardyz defended the gold against Cesaro and Sheamus after weeks of one-on-one encounters between the four combatants.

It didn’t take too long for Matt and Jeff to gain the upper hand against their challengers with some vintage Hardy Boyz. (No, I’m not giving you 10 percent for using “vintage”, Michael Cole.)

But, the challengers have tasted the gold before. They ended The New Day’s historic title reign. They’ve been here before. Sheamus started the comeback to gain Shesaro the upper hand for Cesaro’s arrival into the match.

The Brothers Hardy battled through the attacks from their opponents and tried to get the momentum with Jeff getting over the Matt and making the tag. Matt tried to get things going with some instant offense (and some signs of the BROKEN version of himself).

In a stroke of genius, Jeff tried to erase Cesaro from the equation by leaping on to him and onto the outside, Cesaro countered, but Jeff countered and sent Cesaro flying into the crowd.

As Matt made a tag with Sheamus seeing it, Jeff hit a Swanton Bomb onto Sheamus (and his brother) as Sheamus was going for the win. Jeff connected, got the pinfall and the Hardyz retained.

But, that wasn’t all.

Cesaro and Sheamus physically assaulted the champions after the match and then held the gold high to the crowd.
