Sometimes clothing can help someone feel more confident or happier about themselves, but James Harden may have taken it too far in his presser outfit.

The Houston Rockets suffered a season-ending blowout loss to the San Antonio Spurs in Game 6 of the Western Conference semifinals, but James Harden dressed as if he had just won the NBA Finals.

After the Rockets’ 114-75 loss to the Spurs, Harden decided to go all out for his postgame press conference. Rather than a suit, casual clothes, or any crazy outfit like his former teammate Russell Westbrook would wear, Harden put on his most expensive piece of clothing.

Harden rocked a Gucci hoodie to the presser, which can be found online for the small, measly price of $1200.

Next step for Harden is definitely to buy a pair of Lonzo Ball’s new shoes, the Z02, so he can add on some $495 shoes to his expensive outfit. If he can’t pull that off, he definitely isn’t a Big Baller.

Hopefully the clothes make Harden feel better about his performance in Game 6, as he fell apart in a crucial game for the Rockets. Harden put up just 10 points, and went 2-for-11 from the field in the loss. Add in six turnovers, and that’s a recipe for disaster for a team trying to stave off elimination against an injury-ridden Spurs team.

To be fair, if you’re going to be on one side of the spectrum of the basketball fashion game, you’re going to want to be on Harden’s end. It could definitely be a lot worse, as you could end up like Dirk Nowitzki and Shaquille O’Neal last night, and get roasted because of horrible clothing selections, rather than rocking expensive clothes.

Maybe the hoodie will give Harden some magical powers that help the Rockets make it to the Western Conference finals next year, but The Beard can only dream.
