Miami Marlins’ pitcher Edison Volquez pulled off the rare baseball feat of a no-hitter. Here are the instant Twitter reactions to Volquez’s big day.

Nine innings pitched, two walks and 10 strikeouts later, Edinson Volquez has pulled of the rare feat of pitching a no-hitter. The Marlins’ pitcher complete the no-no against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Volquez wasn’t having a hot year up till this point, with seven losses, but this will be the highlight to a down season so far.

The beauty of the entire no-hitter was how many pitches it took Volquez. Only 98. That means he only averaged about 11 pitches an inning. Wow. That’s what the kids call a Greg Maddux no-hitter.

This was a special, special feat from Miami Marlins’ starting pitcher, Edinson Volquez. For having a down year so far, this was one way to jump-start the team. The Marlins are still reeling from the loss of pitcher Jose Fernandez. As the Twitter reactions showed, it was great to see Volquez bring home the no-hitter for the Marlins.
