Miami Marlins’ pitcher Edison Volquez pulled off the rare baseball feat of a no-hitter. Here are the instant Twitter reactions to Volquez’s big day.
Nine innings pitched, two walks and 10 strikeouts later, Edinson Volquez has pulled of the rare feat of pitching a no-hitter. The Marlins’ pitcher complete the no-no against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Volquez wasn’t having a hot year up till this point, with seven losses, but this will be the highlight to a down season so far.
The beauty of the entire no-hitter was how many pitches it took Volquez. Only 98. That means he only averaged about 11 pitches an inning. Wow. That’s what the kids call a Greg Maddux no-hitter.
With baseball feats such as this, Twitter has crazy reactions to what we just witnessed. Here are some of the best ones that we’ve gathered.

Maybe this was really meant to be for Edinson Volquez, as it seems like he did it for his friend, Yordano Ventura.
Edinson Volquez posted this today on his Instagram account. His buddy Yordano Ventura would've been 26 today. No-hitter was for him. pic.twitter.com/kLvGS9UwsM

This Edinson Volquez no-hitter was more impressive than your average no-hitter doing it injured on less than 100 pitches. Good on him.
