Super Nintendo World is officially under construction at Universal Studios Japan. We got our first look at the area thanks to some images.

The new Nintendo areas coming to Universal Studios’ theme parks worldwide is something we’re extremely excited about. Being fans of both Nintendo and theme park attractions, this is honestly a dream come true. Super Nintendo World is currently under construction at Universal Studios Japan and won’t be ready till 2020. However, we do have some new images and they’re pretty awesome.

Obviously, from the title alone, it’s evident that the Super Mario Bros. series is the main theme. From the images, you can see the brick walls and the Piranha plants coming out of the green tunnels. We’re thinking this is the entrance to the theme park. We already had an idea in our heads of what a Nintendo theme park would look like. After seeing images, this is surpassing our expectations. It’s only a matter of time before we can experience first-hand, but we truly can’t wait for this.

Check out the images below:

The images show nothing but Mario themes, but that’s alright. They’re still in the early stages of development and we’re sure that they have plenty of plans and ideas up their sleeves. Rumor has it that a Mario Kart ride is happening. That would be interesting. We’re hoping we get more than just Mario, though.

For example, another huge and popular franchise is The Legend of Zelda. After seeing what Universal has done with The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, we can only think of all the possibilities of a Zelda themed area. Think of Hyrule field, a bunch of dungeons, and Hyrule castle. In all honesty, it’s the perfect game to model a theme park after.

Other than those two games, anything else is extra. We know that it’s going to be awesome.

Super Nintendo World is planning to be open in time for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
