Friday Night Lights alum, Scott Porter is hitting the football field once again, this time with EA Sports.

From 2006-2011 fans knew him as promising Jason Street who’s high school football career was cut short when a spinal injury limited him to a wheelchair. The show itself showcased small town Texas where football is life and very few make it out of the Dillon city limits.

Six years removed from the the NBC hit, Porter is returning to the football field with EA Sports and EA Play in the movie Longshot, the first ever story mode in Madden franchise history. Porter plays Colt Cruise, the best friend of Devin Wade (J.R. Lemon) who encourages his friend to get to the NFL Draft and beyond. Also

“It was just a special experience,” Porter said. “I don’t know that I’ll ever have that again.”

Porter dished on what the experience with Madden was like and how even though it was still a movie about football, it was a stark contrast from the filming of Friday Night Lights. Speaking of which, Porter commented on the possibility of a reunion, amid recently increased rumors of such a thing happening.

“I’m not sure who would be involved but I would hope that Coach and Tami would be and if you’re starting there you’ve got a great foundation”

In addition to his groundbreaking gaming role in Longshot, Porter and wife, Kelsey reside in Los Angeles and are proud parents to son McCoy and expecting the arrival of their second child later this summer.

Longshot will be available as early as August 17th, when those who ordered early access of Madden 18 can begin playing the game.
