DeMar DeRozan will grace the first-ever Canadian cover of NBA 2K

The Toronto Raptors’ DeMar DeRozan will be featured on the first-ever Canadian cover of NBA 2K.
When DeMar DeRozan first entered the NBA in 2009, not many people expected him to be as good as he is now. People didn’t foresee him breaking any records or performing anything significant to enter the Raptors’ history books. Well, DeRozan has been playing outstanding for the Raptors, and to honor all that he has done for the lone Canadian franchise, 2K Sports will be featuring him on the first-ever Canadian cover of the NBA 2K series.
Speaking to The Score, DeRozan said that it’s an “honor” that 2K chose him to on the cover. He added that he didn’t believe his agent at first when the opportunity was presented to him. But now that it is set to be released, he is really excited. He also said that the chance to be on the cover is “extremely awesome and definitely mind-blowing.”
"“It was just an honor to be mentioned – to have a conversation of me even having an option to be on it. It was something I didn’t even honestly believe when my agent first came to me and told me,” DeRozan told theScore of receiving midseason news about the cover opportunity. “So now to see the cover, and for it to be released, it’s something that I still don’t believe. It’s definitely an honor.“It’s great, because it’s a whole country. It’s going to be in every gaming store (in Canada). It’s going to be in kids’ video game (collections) – everything – it’s great for me to be able to be a representation of that.”"
DeRozan will be gracing the cover of the Canadian edition, while the Cleveland Cavaliers’ Kyrie Irving will be on the standard cover. Hall-of-Famer Shaquille O’Neal will be featured on the Legend Edition.

In the past four seasons, DeRozan has helped the Raptors make the playoffs. Though they have never been to the Finals, DeRozan and Kyle Lowry did lead them to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time in franchise history in 2016.
NBA 2K18 will be released on Sept. 19.
