MLB Trade Rumors: Marlins scouting Yankees, Cubs, Red Sox farm systems

The Miami Marlins are apparently for sale and it appears they are ready to make some big trades between now and the July 31st trade deadline
The Miami Marlins always seem to be a team in flux, one way or another. Right after their two world championship teams, they had fire sales and tore down the roster the following offseason. Owner Jeffrey Loria has put the team up for sale, and since this year has not gone the way they had maybe hoped, it appears they might be trading some of their on-field assets and speaking with teams that have some loaded farm systems, per Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald.
"The Marlins are concentrating their scouting efforts on a half-dozen farm systems in preparation for a likely roster sell-off leading up to the July 31 trading deadline.According to Major League Baseball sources, the Marlins are focusing heavily on five farm systems in particular: the Yankees, Red Sox, Brewers, Rockies and Cubs — all organizations rich in prospects."
The Milwaukee Brewers, New York Yankees and Colorado Rockies have top-10 farm systems. Meanwhile, the Marlins have one of the worst farm systems in the game thanks to injuries to some of their top prospects like Braxton Garrett and Tyler Kolek, who were both high first-round picks.
The Marlins have a lot of interesting pieces that can help a contender. Marcell Ozuna and Christian Yelich are both outstanding outfielders. Yelich was given an extension as well, so if a team trades for him, they can have him for a while. They also have veteran third baseman Martin Prado and slugging first baseman Justin Bour.
On the pitching side, they have relievers AJ Ramos, David Phelps and Kyle Barraclaugh.

The big trade chip with the massive contract is Giancarlo Stanton. However, it’d be hard to imagine them dealing him during the season and before the team is sold. That could be something new ownership does, though, if they so choose.
The Marlins will host the All-Star Game next Tuesday, so all of baseball’s attention will be in Miami next week. The Marlins may also have baseball’s attention at the trade deadline, too.
