The Winnipeg Blue Bombers host the Calgary Stampeders at Investors Group Field. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Calgary Stampeders both enter the third week of the CFL season with undefeated records. Winnipeg defeated Saskatchewan 43-40 in overtime last week. After tying Ottawa in the opening game of the season, Calgary won the rematch at home 43-39.
Last season the Blue Bombers led the league in turnover differential. This season, the Bombers could lead the league again. Winnipeg intercepted two passes and forced two fumbles against the Roughriders. Offensively, Matt Nichols picked apart the Riders defense for 331 yards and four touchdowns. If Winnipeg wants to repeat their success from a week ago, they need to keep Nichols upright and open up holes for running back Andrew Harris.
Calgary will lean on last season’s Most Outstanding Canadian Jerome Messam to pick up first downs. If the bruising running back has success on the ground it will open up the passing game for quarterback Bo-Levi Mitchell. Receivers Lemar Durant and Kamar Jorden have had breakout seasons for the Stampeders. After two weeks, both rank in the top 10 for receiving yards. If Durant and Jorden continue to produce it will create more space for star receivers DaVaris Daniels and Marquay McDaniel.
