It sounds like the women challenging the San Antonio city finals on this season of American Ninja Warrior are going to have a tough time of it.

American Ninja Warrior doesn’t always publish sneak peeks at the city finals runs, but for this week’s San Antonio finals, the show has actually put up part of Barclay Stockett’s run. She was one of the five women who advanced to the finals round.

However, as we learned at last week’s Los Angeles city finals, there are only two slots waiting for women to make it to the national finals and just 15 slots overall for all competitors.

Of course, the video itself isn’t super revealing, since it focuses on the first part of the course:

But pay close attention to the commentary. It sounds like her run will be last of the five women and that most, if not all, of the other four didn’t make it past the fourth obstacle, the Sky Hooks.

There’s just one truly new obstacle on this course, according to the press page, and it has the name of “Spinball Wizard.” If Akbar Gbajabiamila does not refer to at least some lines from “Pinball Wizard” while people challenge this obstacle, it will be incredibly disappointing. He might even get Matt Iseman in on it with the famous exchange: “How do you think he does it?” / “I don’t know!” / “What makes him so good?”

Spinball Wizard will make its appearance in the second half of the course, with the Salmon Ladder welcoming people in after the Warped Wall and the Elevator Climb at the end. At the L.A. city finals, the Elevator Climb actually ended up taking a few people out because of how demanding it is, so expect that trend to continue. Finally, the Hourglass Drop will also return in the second part of the course.
