Wolfsburg face Borussia Dortmund at the Volkswagen Arena on Saturday, Aug. 19. Here’s all the info you need to watch.

Wolfsburg face Borussia Dortmund in the opening weekend of the Bundesliga season. Last year the two teams finished at opposite ends of the table. Dortmund finished third from the top, while Wolfsburg finished third from the bottom, winning the relegation playoff. Following the season, Dortmund parted with Thomas Tuchel, replacing him with former Ajax boss Peter Bosz.

Dortmund enter the season battling injuries and transfer rumors. Marco Reus, Julian Weigl, Erik Durm and Raphael Guerreiro will all the start of the season with injuries. Ousmane Dembele was suspended by the club after he left training to try to force a move to Barcelona. However, Dortmund made several offseason signings and have squad depth to overcome the injuries.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will again be the focal point of Dortmund’s attack after leading the Bundesliga in goals a season ago. However, Aubameyang has made it known he would welcome a transfer away from the club. After missing the majority of last season with a metabolic disorder, Mario Gotze is healthy and should get the opportunity to bounce back.

Wolfsburg spent the summer trying to improve their squad and avoid the relegation zone this season. American defender John Brooks was Wolfsburg’s big signing but he will miss the opener with a thigh injury. With center-back Jeffery Bruma already out with injury, Wolfsburg could be in serious trouble going up against a powerful Dortmund attack. If Wolfsburg are going to find the back of the net, Mario Gomez will likely be the man to score. The 32-year-old has thrived under manager Andries Jonker in his career, scoring 10 of his 16 goals last season after Jonker was named manager.
