See Starfighter Assault gameplay in new Star Wars: Battlefront II trailer

A new gameplay trailer has dropped for Star Wars: Battlefront II. It focuses on the new mode, Starfighter Assault, and it seems like it’ll be a blast.

With Star Wars: Battlefront II, we’re hoping Electronic Arts rights its wrongs. Star Wars: Battlefront was very disappointing. The visuals and sounds accurately represented what Star Wars is. However, the gameplay was extremely generic. The lack of variety and content also held it back tremendously. Battlefront II is looking to improve on all of those faults and so far, we’re impressed. The new gameplay trailer for the new mode, Starfighter Assault, only increases our interest in the game.

One thing we’ll, for sure, be getting in Battlefront II are intense and fun space battles. As players, we’ll be able to fly a variety of different and iconic ships, such as TIE fighters, A-wings, and even the Millennium Falcon. It’s also awesome that we’ll be able to play through all three cinematic Star Wars eras.

For example, we’ll be able to play as characters and in areas from the original trilogy. Fans of The Empire Strikes Back will definitely be in for a treat. However, we can also play through the prequel era and the new generation of Star Wars films, which is also cool.

Other than the new gameplay trailer, we’ll be able to see more of this new mode very soon. On Monday, Aug. 21, during the EA Live Show, Gamescom will be streaming the Starfighter Assault live gameplay reveal. We’ll see 24 players go at it on the new map, Fondor: Imperial Shipyard. It’s going to be intense.

If you want to test out the game prior to its launch, a multiplayer beta will be available on Oct. 4.

Star Wars: Battlefront II launches on Nov. 17, 2017.
