You know how WWE can do those things where it gets you to go, “Holy [expletive]!” That happened on Tuesday. Kevin Owens headbutted WWE Chairman Vincent Kennedy McMahon and gave him a savage beatdown to close SmackDown Live. He’s the focal point of this week’s WWE power rankings.

Before he arrived in WWE from Ring of Honor, Kevin Owens went by his real-life name of Kevin Steen. One of his shirts that he wore during his time in ROH said three simple words in a huge font: “KILL STEEN KILL”.

On Tuesday night, Kevin Owens showed what Kevin Steen used to be about on the indies in one of the most savage-like beatdowns to cap off SmackDown Live.

What made this segment so shocking was that … Kevin Owens hard-way headbutted the man who writes his checks: Vince McMahon. Like, he brought color. The red stuff came pouring out of McMahon’s forehead and then Owens just completely snapped, hitting a superkick and a big frog splash from the top rope on WWE’s chairman of the board.

This Owens vs. McMahon saga is heading for Hell in a Cell next month in Detroit and after Owens’ decimation of Shane McMahon’s father, who knows what Shane-o-Mac is going to do to Owens when he returns from suspension.

Also this week, Roman Reigns finally fought back against John Cena in their war of words after Reigns’ entertaining match against Jason Jordan to open up RAW on Monday. We have new tag team champions thanks to The New Day’s victory over The Usos. Oh, and Braun Strowman flattened Brock Lesnar yet again.

Let me say that again because I left out a key part. Braun Strowman flattened Brock Lesnar and John Cena in the same episode of RAW. He’s sent Big Show off to surgery one week and then destroyed two of the best performers in WWE history the next. Who can stop him?

Now that we got that long-winded promo out of the way, let’s get into this week’s power rankings.

(Disclaimer: The wrestlers chosen for this power rankings list only appear on Monday Night Raw or SmackDown Live, so that means no NXT/205 Live specific stars are on this list.)
