Here’s the info you need on whether or not you can watch the highly-anticipated bout between Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin in movie theatres.

A fight years in the making, undefeated middleweight champ Gennady Golovkin (37-0, 33 KOs) will battle Canelo Álvarez (49-1-1, 34 KOs) on Saturday night, September 16 from a sold-out T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. At least somebody can sell out that venue, am I right?

This bout features two of the hardest hitters in the sport in Golovkin and Álvarez and will undoubtedly be one of the best fights of the year. GGG has defended his middleweight crown 18 consecutive times, just two short of Bernard Hopkins’ record of 20, while Canelo will be fighting at 160 pounds for the first time in his career. Álvarez brings a seven-fight win streak into this highly-anticipated matchup after suffering the first and only loss of his career in 2013 to Floyd Mayweather. The draw on Canelo’s record came all the way back in 2006 against Jorge Juarez in just his fifth professional fight.

There are a few ways to watch this fight, including on HBO PPV and ringtv.com, both of which are charging $79.99 for the HD broadcast. However, if you’re looking for a night out of the house and/or a much bigger screen, Fathom Events will be showing the fight at approximately 400 movie theaters across the United States. Ticket prices will vary at each location but the majority of tickets seem to be going for $20. The broadcast will be identical to the HBO version and will start at 8:00 p.m. ET.
