Who are the top pickups off the waiver wire this week?

Another Sunday slate is in the books, and the fantasy football season is in full flow. It was another crazy weekend of football, and as expected, all of our predictions and anticipated happenings were thrown out of the window with ensuing madness. After all the twists, turns, and injuries, who should be be targeting on the waiver wire for week three?

Last week’s selections: Jesse James, Javorius Allen, Allen Hurns/Marqise Lee, Kerwynn Williams, Austin Hooper, Jared Goff, Nelson Agholor, Cooper Kupp, Kenny Golladay, Tarik Cohen

10. Brandon Coleman

All through the preseason and even ahead of Week 2, I assumed Ted Ginn was going to be the biggest beneficiary from Brandin Cooks’ departure and Willie Snead’s departure. However, it turns out I was wrong. Ginn didn’t achieve any relevant fantasy stats in Week 1, and followed it up with only three catches for 43 yards against the Patriots. That was despite the fact Drew Brees threw the ball 45 times for 356 yards!

Michael Thomas got some action this week (five catches for 89 yards), but it was big Brandon Coleman who had a great fantasy output with 82 yards and a touchdown on four grabs. Once again, the running backs had a horrible fantasy football split (Mark Ingram eight carries, Adrian Peterson eight and Alvin Kamara only one), so it was only the receivers who came through.

The Saints were 20-3 down when Coleman’s touchdown brought them back into the game, and Brees appears to see the bigger-bodied safer target as a preferred one to speedsters Ginn and Tommylee Lewis. Coleman is definitely a very deep sleeper at this point, but a big target on a Drew Brees-led team might be worth owning.
