Will you follow NBC’s The Brave season 1 in their fight against terrorism? Here’s how you can watch season 1, episode 1 live, on TV and online.

This fall NBC has given its plum post-The Voice time slot to The Brave, a new military drama. But will The Brave season 1 fare better than its predecessor Taken? Only one way to find out.

Season 1, episode 1 is called “Pilot” and sets up the story of a special ops team led by Adam Dalton (played by Mike Vogel from Under The Dome), who set out to save a kidnapped doctor from terrorist forces. But naturally, there’s more going on than just a kidnapping, or The Brave season 1 would be a very short season.

Enter high-ranking bureaucrat Patricia Campell (played by Anne Heche), who senses a conspiracy at work. Anne Heche might be used to this kind of thing, since her two last series regular roles were in USA‘s Dig (about a conspiracy in Jerusalem) and SyFy‘s Aftermath (about the end of the world).

The bigger question is if NBC viewers will be used to this. The Brave isn’t the first time the network has tried to launch a drama with a military angle; do you remember American Odyssey? How about State of Affairs? Neither show got out of its first season, so The Brave season 1 will have to stand out fast if it wants to avoid a similar fate. Here’s hoping the show starts with a bang. Literally.

"When American doctor Kimberley Wells gets kidnapped by a group with terrorist ties, Captain Adam Dalton and his heroic Special Ops squad of highly trained undercover specialists must take action and stop at nothing to save her. Across the world, D.I.A. Deputy Director Patricia Campbell and her team of analysts guide Dalton along the way through as the group learns that Wells’ disappearance might have ties to something that could be catastrophic."
