Who are the top fantasy football running back sleepers for Week 4?

In this series, we identify players who you will want to find space for in your starting fantasy football lineups this week. We cover names who aren’t on your list of must-starts,  but could fit into gaps where you need a boost.

10. Elijah McGuire

The New York Jets sixth round pick will likely see a strong increase in touches and involvement this week, as starting running back Matt Forte is out with a turf toe injury. So far in his short career, McGuire has carried the ball 13 times for 463 yards, and a respectable 4.8 yards per carry average. This week, he has a chance to shine.

The Jets pulled off a surprise win last week when they defeated their AFC East rival Miami Dolphins and proved they should be taken seriously despite the general consensus being that they are one of the least talented teams in the league.

While the Jets aren’t an explosive offense capable of scoring a huge numbers of points, they still need to spread the ball out, and there hasn’t been a playmaker really step up to this point.

The man in front of McGuire at the moment, Bilal Powell, has been predominantly a receiving back throughout his career. McGuire has a great chance to gain some traction and make a statement by having a strong game on the ground. This week the Jets face a Jags defense that has surrendered 135.3 rushing yards per game (28th in the NFL) and the rookie could get rolling.
