The Dolphins will travel to battle the Dolphins on a short week on Thursday Night Football. Who will come out on top from this Week 8 battle?

The Baltimore Ravens and Miami Dolphins are in similar boats ahead of their Week 8 matchup on Thursday Night Football. Both are fighting to get back in their respective divisional races, and both could see their seasons take a serious turn with a potential loss on Thursday night.

The Ravens, currently sitting at 3-4 and second in the AFC North, may not seem like they’re in too much trouble in second place in their division. However, the Pittsburgh Steelers have already taken a two-game lead in the division, and a loss in Week 8 could be disastrous for the Ravens and their playoff hopes.

On the other side, the Dolphins find themselves in an actually competitive AFC East for the first time in a while, as they sit in third place with their 4-2 record. They’re just a half-game behind the New England Patriots in the division and could put some serious heat on their divisional rival with a win before the Patriots take on the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.

Odds: Ravens -2.5, according to Sportsbook Review

This game has the potential to be something special, but the injury to Jay Cutler under center for the Dolphins could make this a bit lopsided. Depending on if Matt Moore can step up against a talented Ravens defense, this could either be a close game as the odds say or get ugly very quickly.

I see this one matching the hype that people have been putting on it, and the Ravens will likely pull out a close win against an understaffed Dolphins offense with a stellar defensive effort. While it may not do much for their AFC North hopes, it’d be a step in the right direction, for sure.

Prediction: Ravens 20, Dolphins 16
