Fantasy football: Top 10 waiver wire Week 11 pickups

Week 11 is in the books, and fantasy owners were treated to another chapter of this unpredictable fantasy season.
C.J. Beathard was the third-highest scoring quarterback on Sunday. Austin Ekeler scored two touchdowns. Dak Prescott failed to eclipse 200 yards passing and didn’t throw a touchdown. Antonio Brown logged just three catches. The fickle nature of fantasy football has been on full display in 2017.
Last week, we recommended adding Robert Woods (171 yards and two TDs), Marqise Lee (55 yards and a TD), Jared Goff (355 yards and three TDs) and Robby Anderson (85 yards and a TD). We also recommended Tyler Kroft (one catch for four yards).
Fantasy football is not an exact science, but it’s the job of each fantasy owner to digest the information each week and make their best assessment of which players have value going forward. Here are the Top 10 waiver wire pickups for Week 11:
10. Case Keenum
Case Keenum was not remotely on the fantasy radar heading into the 2017 NFL season. In fact, he’s probably never been on the fantasy radar at any point in his professional career. There are not many NFL fans outside of the state of Minnesota that knew what team Keenum was even on heading into this season. Well, here we are, and Keenum makes this week’s waiver wire pickups list.
The Minnesota quarterback was thrust into the starting role weeks ago with Sam Bradford dealing with knee issues, and he’s tightened his grasp on the gig despite Teddy Bridgewater’s recent return to the sideline. Head coach Mike Zimmer hasn’t fully committed to Keenum as the long-term starter, but the Vikings have won five straight, and coaches are usually reluctant to make a change when the team is racking up victories.
Keenum is not the kind of guy that you really want to start every week, but he’s definitely proven serviceable in a pinch. Sunday marked his best performance of the year, as the Houston product torched the Washington Redskins to the tune of 304 yards and four touchdowns. Those are not numbers to expect from Keenum on a weekly basis, but quarterback-needy fantasy owners should consider him. He plays in a pretty conservative offense but also has the potential for big fantasy days, as indicated by Sunday’s performance.
Ideally, you’d have Keenum and another quarterback to work with if you’re a former Aaron Rodgers or Deshaun Watson owner. Keenum is the kind of QB option to consider in matchups against porous secondaries and weak pass rushes. He has some nice weapons in Stefon Diggs, Adam Thielen and Kyle Rudolph, and running back Jerick McKinnon has proven to be a solid pass-catcher out of the backfield.
