Oklahoma City Thunder center Steven Adams hits one-handed halfcourt shots during practice.

During practice on Dec. 11, center Steven Adams casually drained a one-handed halfcourt shot. While most of the entire NBA loves to have a little fun during practice, Adams put his fun today into his halfcourt splashes. Coming from a big man in the league, this is beautiful.

Steven Adams must have gotten some inspiration from his rival, Stephen Curry from the Golden State Warriors. Except, Curry didn’t do this with one hand and he certainly did not have both feet on the ground. This seemed to have been no problem for Adams at all to heave up this incredible one-handed shot.

With no effort seemed to have been given, Adams just drains it like it was nothing at all. It was almost like throwing a football, except, this isn’t football at all. It looks like Stephen Curry now has some competition with his halfcourt warm-up shots. It also appears to look like the call will go not to Russell Westbrook but to Adams for the halfcourt heaves at the buzzer now, seems like the appropriate adjustment.

Steven Adams so far in the 2017-18 season is averaging 13.8 points per game on 64 percent field goal shooting. After this, there could potentially be a new category added to his stat-line: one-handed halfcourt shots. He would probably be 100 percent in that category.

The Oklahoma City Thunder are back at home preparing to play Memphis getting their practices in. Coming off of a 102-101 victory on Saturday in Memphis, the Thunder look to cap off yet another victory against the Grizzlies. Now that Adams seems to have found his new hot spot, let’s hope we get to see some halfcourt shots during his games from now on.
