Is The Gifted new tonight, January 8? As FOX is rolling toward the end of the Marvel drama’s first season, fans may be wondering if they can expect a new episode on Monday — and we have all the information for you.

The bad news is no, there is not a new episode scheduled on Monday. Even though the series just returned from its winter break last week (catch up here), the network has elected not to show the next episode this week. Instead, it will run the final two episodes of The Gifted season 1 back to back next Monday, Jan. 15, starting an hour earlier at 8 p.m. ET.

The good news is that if you still need your fix of mutants, FOX is using the bye week to give fans a repeat of the show’s seventh episode “eXtreme measures.” This is the episode where fans met the ex-girlfriend of Eclipse (Sean Teale) and Jace Turner (Coby Bell) officially started working with the crazy Dr. Roderick Campbell (recurring guest star Garret Dillahunt). It will provide a refresher of a few key points going into next week’s season finale.

The better news is that last week, FOX ordered The Gifted season 2, so you’ll be able to get even more new episodes after that. You can find out more about the renewal by clicking the banner link below.

So while we can’t give you a positive answer to “is The Gifted new tonight,” we can tell you that there’s still an episode on, and there will be a lot more episodes to come. That’s worth having to wait an extra week, isn’t it? And it gives you plenty to look forward to as we head toward Jan. 15 and the explosive conclusion to the struggle between the Mutant Underground and Sentinel Services.
