Riverdale season 2, episode 10 synopsis: The Blackboard Jungle

This week on Riverdale, the Black Hood storyline is over and it is time to move on from serial killers to the horror of Southside High and Riverdale High merging.

Jughead Jones will soon me returning to the familiar halls of Riverdale High. But, have no fear it is not because Riverdale is making a sudden 180 and making Jughead forget his new found calling as a Serpent.

No, due to recent events like one of the teachers being revealed to be the town’s biggest Jingle Jangle dealer, and of course plot reasons, Southside High will be closing its doors. So, after the first half of season 2 raised the tensions between the north and south sides of Riverdale, the kids now have to find a way to share a single school. What could go wrong, except for pretty much everything?

After a first half of the season that saw the football team get into a fight with the younger members of the Southside Serpents, there is sure to be some new hostilities in the halls. And while Riverdale High might look down at Southside High, this is still the school where the Black Hood was the janitor.

Here is the synopsis of the episode, “The Blackboard Jungle”, from SpoilerTV.

"NEW YEAR, NEW DRAMA — Tensions mount when the sudden shut down of Southside High forces Jughead (Cole Sprouse) and his fellow serpents to transfer to Riverdale High. Veronica (Camila Mendes) ensures Hiram (Mark Consuelos) and Hermoine (Marisol Nichols) that she’s still on board with their plans for SoDale. Archie (KJ Apa) is conflicted when he is asked to gather some information on Hiram’s suspicious business dealings. Betty (Lili Reinhart) sets out on a quest to find her long-lost brother, Chic (guest star Hart Denton)."

Despite the seemingly high school focus of the winter premiere, this would not be an episode of Riverdale without some of the core four doing something like starting a vigilante group, or secretly communicating with the big bad.

As hinted at during the midseason finale, Veronica has been let in on all of her family’s potentially illegal business dealings. She must now decide if she will go along with whatever her parents have planned for SoDale. All while Archie is tasked with gathering information on Hiram Lodge. That is sure to cause some friction in Veronica and Archie’s relationship.
