With Black Panther set to debut in theaters around the country, we have you covered with all the information you need leading up to the latest Marvel film, including more on the Dora Milaje.

For the most part, the vast majority of the characters featured in February’s Black Panther have yet to appear in a Marvel Cinematic Universe movie.

Chadwick Boseman’s titular character obviously appeared in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, as did Martin Freeman’s Everett K. Ross, John Kani’s T’Chaka and Florence Kasumba’s character, who is credited in Civil War (on IMDB) as a Security Chief, but is credited in Black Panther as Ayo.

In the comic books, Ayo is a member of the Dora Milaje.

The Dora Milaje, a group that will also feature in the film, are a group of women who serve as T’Challa’s, or the king’s, bodyguards. What’s more, the group tends to be comprised of one woman each from the different tribes in Wakanda.

It will certainly be interesting to see what kind of a role the characters play in the film, considering Kasumba, Lupita Nyong’o and Danai Gurira all play members of the Dora Milaje in the movie.

Black Panther will open in theaters around the United States of America on Feb. 16, 2018.

The film is directed by Ryan Coogler, who previously helmed both Creed and Fruitvale Station and stars Chadwick Boseman as the titular character of T’Challa/Black Panther.
