1. Tennessee Titans sign RB Dion Lewis

Generally speaking, running backs in free agency should be a no-no, but this fits too well for the Titans not to have it here. After releasing DeMarco Murray, Tennessee was committing to Derrick Henry. This contract doesn’t change that.

Lewis, who comes to Nashville on a four-year $20 million deal with incentives becomes the lightning to Henry’s thunder. He can play in the gun with Mariota, split out wide, be used in the screen game and return kicks in a pinch.

Looking at Mariota’s best seasons at Oregon, he regularly had a back with similar traits to Lewis and with Matt LaFleur coming over from the Rams, should have a coach who understands how best to utilize his game. Sean McVay turned Todd Gurley into a receiving dynamo last year. Lewis isn’t Gurley as a runner, but he’s proven he’s a versatile, dynamic back in the passing game with enough juice in the run game to not be predictable.

Great move for a reasonable price. That’s the name of the free agency game.
