Scott Snyder, Jim Cheung and Jorge Jimenez are joining forces to bring fans a pretty classic Justice League roster facing all new challenges starting this summer.

Justice League is coming back. To be fair, it never went away, but excitement over DC Comics’ premiere superteam tends to ebb and flow a little bit over time, refreshed when new blood and big names join the fold.

The book is getting both of those when it relaunches in June. As reported earlier but officially announced just today by DC Comics (via CBR), the new Justice League series will ship bi-weekly with stories told by superstar writer Scott Snyder and artists Jim Cheung and Jorge Jimenez.

The roster was also revealed in a look at the cover to issue #1, which features a blend of the traditional founding members of the Justice League with a few nods to its stellar animated history. The DC Trinity of Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman is joined by the Flash, Aquaman, and in a much-needed return, the Martian Manhunter.

There’s a Green Lantern on the team, but it’s John Stewart, not Hal Jordan. Also in the mix are Hawkgirl and Cyborg, a founding member of the team in its New 52 canon.

DC also released synopses for the first two issues:

"On sale June 6, JUSTICE LEAGUE #1 follows the events of DC NATION #0 (on sale May 2) and JUSTICE LEAGUE: NO JUSTICE (on sale weekly from May 9 through 30). The Justice League is launched into a mystery that will draw out their most terrible foes…in ways our heroes couldn’t possibly imagine! In this debut issue, Martian Manhunter struggles to protect the team from an incoming threat that will shatter the world as they know it, while a familiar face strikes out on a dark path…Shipping biweekly, in JUSTICE LEAGUE #2 on June 20 by Snyder and Jiménez, the League is faced with an impossible decision…and now they must face the consequences! While Martian Manhunter and Batman attempt to recruit an old ally back into the fold, The Flash and Hawkgirl are blindsided by new challenges that could rewrite their mythologies!"

That’s a double dose of Justice League excitement for the first month of the summer, and no fan of DC or superheroes in general should object to that.
