In the Flyers last game of the season, a win or an overtime loss will clinch a playoff spot. Will they be able to do it?

The Rangers and the Flyers are two teams that have somewhat switched places in the standings over the course of the last year. The Flyers are fighting for the final wild card playoff spot and the Rangers have mathematically eliminated from the playoffs for some time now.

Here is everything you need to know to watch this important final game of the Flyer’s season.

New York Rangers vs. Philadelphia Flyers

Date: Saturday, April 7th

Location: Wells Fargo Center

Time: 3:00 p.m. ET

TV: NBC

Livestream: Fubo.tv

The Flyers are not even a full year removed from picking Nolan Patrick with the second overall pick in the 2017 NHL entry draft and they are fighting to clinch a playoff spot for the first time since the 2015-2016 season. The Rangers on the other hand are at the end of the life cycle of this team. Lundqvist, as well as the rest of the core of the Rangers is getting old and management understands this as they have already started the rebuild process  by trading away former captain Ryan McDonagh. The Rangers are eliminated from this years playoffs race so the main focus of this game will be on the Claude Giroux and the Flyers.

The first line and all the few rotating players that have played on it have been the story of for the Flyers all season long. The pairing of Claude Giroux and Sean Couturier have been consistently good all season long with the introduction of Giroux playing on the wing, instead of his natural center.

This seemingly small adjustment has worked out better than anyone could have expected as Giroux and Couturier are having career years. Giroux currently sits 2nd in league tied with Nikita Kucherov with 98 points (31G, 67A). Sean Couturier on the other hand has 74 points currently, this puts him 35 points ahead of his previous career total of 39, and the center has doubled his former career high in goals by breaking 30 goals for the first time in his career.
