The San Jose Sharks host the Anaheim Ducks in Game 4 of their first-round series. Here’s everything you need to know to watch.

The San Jose Sharks came out and humiliated the Anaheim Ducks in Game 3 of their series 8-1 to take a 3-0 series lead. San Jose can become the first team to clinch a spot in the second round and swept the Ducks away. Game 4 could mark the end of an era for an aging Anaheim team based around declining stars Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry.

The Sharks power play was deadly in Game 3, converting four man advantages. Martin Jones has been the best player on any team in the playoffs. The Sharks goalie has stopped 98 of 101 shots. The addition of Evander Kane at the deadline was considered a steal at the time and is looking even better after three playoff games. Kane has three goals and four points while taking 17 shots. Joe Pavelski and Logan Couture have played very well in the series. The Sharks’ top two centers have combined for 10 points.

John Gibson and Ryan Miller were both awful in Game 3, combining to allow eight goals on only 36 shots. Gibson will likely start in Game 4 and will have to steal a game if Anaheim is going to keep their series alive. Anaheim has not found a way to beat Jones. Rickard Rakell has found creative ways to get to the net but has only one goal. The Ducks top two centers, Getzlaf and Ryan Kessler have struggled, combining for only eight shots over the first three games. Corey Perry has been disappointing so far in the series and that has to be concerning for Anaheim. Perry’s contract is starting to look like an albatross. The Ducks’ winger is signed for three more seasons and $8.625 million but has seen his scoring totals drop notably over the last two seasons.
