After a rough defensive half in Game 3, the Utah Jazz look to even their series with the Houston Rockets in Game 4.

The Utah Jazz suffered their first home loss of the playoffs in Game 3 against the Houston Rockets. They’ll need to get back to their winning ways at Vivint Smart Home Arena if they want to avoid going down 3-1 in the series.

Rookie Donovan Mitchell finally looked like a guy playing in his first careers playoffs on Friday night. After a Game 2 performance that had fans comparing him to Prince in a Chappelle’s Show sketch, Mitchell looked delirious in Game 3, shooting 4-for-16 for 10 points.

On the other side of the court, James Harden had 25 points and 12 assists. Eric Gordon had 25 points of his own off the bench. Chris Paul, Clint Capela and Trevor Ariza also scored in double figures for the Rockets.

The vaunted Jazz defense was rocked in the first half, giving up 70 points to the best offense in the league.

Utah has been without starting point guard Ricky Rubio all series. His status for Game 4 remains uncertain. He would be a welcome addition to a Jazz offense that isn’t quite the same without his playmaking prowess.

Houston’s margin of victory in the playoffs in 15.8 points. Their only non-double-digit victory came in Game 1 of the first round against the Minnesota Timberwolves. To say they have decimated opponents thus far would be an understatement.

First and foremost, the Jazz will need Mitchell to be better in Game 4 if they hope to make this a three-game series. Beyond that, they’ll need to come up with a solution to a Houston offense that has been a problem all season.
