Based on the Edward St. Aubyn novels, the five-episode series stars Benedict Cumberbatch as the very troubled title character. He may be smart and charming, but he’s got a lot of problems to sort out, and that’s if he can even be bothered.

TV fans will get to trace Patrick’s entire life and times from France to New York to everywhere in-between, complete with various demons, loves and losses. It’s definitely a different role from playing Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Strange, but that’s the appeal of the series. With Cumberbatch at the center, this will be a miniseries well worth watching, and it all starts this weekend.
