This week on Riverdale, it is time for the season 2 finale and to wrap up all of the storylines. And there is a lot to get to in the final hour.

There is just one hour left in Riverdale‘s second season, and there is a lot of ground to cover in a relatively short amount of time.

The story with the most carryover potential into season 3 is the mayor’s race. In the finale, Fred will find himself down in the polls to Hermione and trying to find a way back in that doesn’t involve offering a million dollar reward for catching the Black Hood.

Fred’s best hope for winning is that Veronica has come around to seeing how horrible her father is and is continuing to work against her parents. And speaking of bad dads, Betty most deal with her father confessing to being the Black Hood.

Here is the synopsis for the season 2 finale, “Brave New World,” from SpoilerTV.

"With Fred (Luke Perry) trailing in the polls, Archie (KJ Apa) steps in to lend a hand in his dad’s mayoral campaign. Veronica (Camila Mendes) stays one step ahead after uncovering Hiram’s (Mark Consuelos) latest scheme. Elsewhere, Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) finalizes her emancipation from her mother, while FP (Skeet Ulrich) makes a surprising announcement to Jughead (Cole Sprouse) and the Serpents. Finally, Betty (Lili Reinhart) confronts her darkest demons."

It looks like the synopsis has gone ahead and resolved the big cliffhanger from the end of the last episode. Jughead Jones, not surprisingly, survived getting beaten up by the Ghoulies. So, in the finale promo, whose grave are Betty, Archie and Veronica standing in front of if it is not Jughead’s?

After watching his son get almost beaten to death last week, could F.P. be ready to leave the Serpents. Possibly setting the ground work for Jughead’s mother and sister to return. Or maybe, F.P. learns from Veronica that it was Hiram who set up Jughead to get attacked.

That would be the quickest way for Riverdale to tie together most of its major plot lines. It would just leave the Black Hood storyline on its own. But it would not be surprising if the Black Hood somehow connects back to Hiram Lodge as well.
