Is Live PD new tonight, May 25? Fans of A&E‘s addictive police series may be wondering whether or not they’ll be able to catch a new episode tonight, given that the show is in the middle of a little spring break.

There’s good news and bad news for TV viewers. The bad news is that the show isn’t new tonight, nor on Saturday night. After taking last week off, the series is also off this week while its crews are enjoying the Memorial Day weekend.

It’s a well-deserved break for the many camera people, producers and other crew members who bring live police action to TV audiences twice a week. As analyst Tom Morris Jr. recently pointed out on Reddit, most of the production team works full-time when they’re not in A&E’s broadcast center, so they work a lot harder than we ever get to see.

Yes, it’s a bummer that we won’t get to see new episodes this weekend, especially since holiday weekends tend to be rife for interesting calls with holiday parties, arguments and overall weird stuff (especially in El Paso).

But is Live PD on tonight? Yes! The series will still be showing this weekend, as A&E is rolling out two episodes from earlier this season to fill the last weekend of hiatus.

On Friday, you can watch season 2, episode 9 (from Nov. 11) again, and on Saturday there will be a repeat of season 2, episode 17 (from Nov. 17). Both episodes will air at the show’s regular time.

New episodes of Live PD return on Friday, June 1. So while the answer to is Live PD new tonight is no, kick back and watch some old episodes this weekend. Possibly with some ham.
