After the Dodgers traded for Manny Machado, we got a live reaction on video of Justin Turner and Alex Wood finding out about the news.

The inevitable finally happened. Manny Machado was officially traded to the Dodgers yesterday, as all the speculation finally came to fruition. The Dodgers, who are without Corey Seager for the rest of the year, were able to land the best trade target on the market.

Los Angeles gave up a bundle of five prospects in order to land the 26-year-old Machado. It’s huge for LA because they lost their star shortstop Corey Seager earlier in the year to a season-ending injury, and couldn’t find an adequate replacement to fill that role.

Chris Taylor has tried to fill that role but he’s not at the same level as Seager or Machado obviously. It was a huge day for the Dodgers and the fans and even players had amazing reactions to the trade.

Luckily for us, Kourtney Turner, Justin Turner’s wife, was able to film Justin Turner and Alex Wood’s reaction live from their vacation.

Alex Wood clearly gets an update that the deal is official and he proceeds to tell his teammate Justin Turner. Obviously, the reaction of the two is strong as they just landed someone who is hitting .315 with 24 homers and 65 RBIs while rocking a career high .963 OPS.

Machado is a superstar that can put this year’s Dodgers team over the top. The Dodgers, who have made the playoffs each of the last five years has struggled to get over the hump. They made their first World Series since 1988, but haven’t been able to win one in 30 years.

This is the kind of move that can set them apart from the rest of the National League and give them a shot against Houston, New York or Boston in the fall classic.

Next: Who won the Machado trade?

Unfortunately for Kourtney Turner, this isn’t much of an All-Star break. Yes, they might be on vacation somewhere but clearly, her husband is thinking about his baseball team. Could you blame him? Manny is the biggest trade acquisition the Dodgers have made since, well, the other Manny (Ramirez) a decade ago. Buckle up Dodgers fans, the second half is about to be a fun ride.
