The Orlando Magic have revealed their retro jerseys for the team’s 30th anniversary including the classic original logo, pinstripes are officially back.

It seems like only yesterday Shaquille O’Neal was in 1994 film Blue Chips and teaming up with Penny Hardaway on the Orlando Magic. Its been decades since Shaq ultimately left for the L.A. Lakers, after a finals run in 1995 and ECF loss to Jordan’s Bulls in ’96, and Penny was eventually traded to the Phoenix Suns in ’99.

Yet, there’s just something infinitely special about that moment in time for Magic fans, where the Magic were fresh and new, still just a couple of years removed from being added as an expansion team.

Their pinstriped jerseys became part of the Magic’s lore with their star logo inspired by Orlando’s Walt Disney World talent itself according to a 1987 article by the Orlando Sentinel. It’s time once again to relish in the Orlando Magic’s ’90s golden age with their 30th anniversary and wax nostalgic a bit longer.

"Williams said the Magic worked for nearly a year on their logo before settling on a design from their advertising agency, The Advertising Works. Doug Minear, president of the agency, created the logo after consulting with artists from Walt Disney World and culling through some 500 suggestions from around the country."

The Magic have officially revealed their retro jerseys which include the classic logo for the occasion and they look just as crisp as ever.

According to The Orlando Sentinel, the retro jerseys will “feature the Nike logo on the front upper-right area of the jersey, the Disney logo on the front upper-left area of the jersey and “Magic” text across the front waistband.” The 30th anniversary logo will also include the same blue basketball with stars as the original back in 1989.

The pinstriped blue away jerseys fit just as much today as they always did, showing some designs are simply timeless. Sometimes there’s no need to fix what’s not broken as the saying goes. Already Magic fans on Twitter responding to ESPN reporter Darren Rovell commented that they should “just switch to these full time” and that “might be the best uniform in the whole NBA.”
