The Sparks travel to take on the Liberty to kick off the slate. Stacking LA today may turn out to be a good decision, given that the Liberty can’t keep opposing teams from running up the score. There is a lot of value to be found in this game, and with these kinds of prices, you can fit a lot of players from this matchup into your WNBA DFS lineups.

7 p.m. ET   Los Angeles Sparks (17-11)  vs.  New York Liberty (7-21)  156 O/U NY+9

LOS – Off rating 101.6  Def rating 98.4  Pace 81.9  Off ppg 79.4 Def ppg 76.7

NY – Off rating  97.3  Def rating  105.5  Pace  79.6  Off ppg 78  Def ppg 84.9

Key Players:

Candace Parker – Parker’s splits favor her away from home, scoring almost 4 points more a game with a slight bump in rebounds and assists. She get’s a great matchup today against a weak NY frontcourt. LineStar has her projected to score 43.68 points on Fanduel today. I will have plenty of exposure to her today in my lineups.

Chelsea Gray – Gray has been lighting it up lately, scoring an average of 20 points in her last three games. She may not have huge GPP upside but she has a been consistent enough for cash and is one of the safer plays on the board. LineStar has her projected to score 31.23 points on Fanduel. She’s a better play on DraftKings where you can get her or Nneka Ogwumike for under 10k.

Tina Charles – Charles had a decent game against Seattle at the Gardens, putting up 20 points. She hasn’t been filling up the stat sheet anywhere else though, besides turnovers. No MSG today, the Liberty will be playing back at the Westchester County Center. LineStar has her projected to score 32.97 on Fanduel. At this price, she will have a hard time hitting value today on either site.

Value Picks:  Kia Nurse (FD & DK) , Amanda Zahui B (FD & DK) , Alana Beard (FD & DK)

PHOENIX, AZ – JULY 05: Jasmine Thomas #5 of the Connecticut Sun high fives Morgan Tuck #33 and Alex Bentley #20 during the first half of WNBA game against the Phoenix Mercury at Talking Stick Resort Arena on July 5, 2018 in Phoenix, Arizona. (Photo by Christian Petersen/Getty Images

Jasmine Thomas scored 30 points to help carry the Sun to a victory over the Las Vegas Aces on Sunday. She get’s another good matchup today in Dallas against a Wings team that have lost five games in a row. Can she help your WNBA DFS lineups today? Keep reading to find out.

8 p.m. ET   Connecticut Sun  (16-12)  vs. Dallas Wings (14-14)  170  O/U  DAL+4

CON –Off rating  107.2  Def rating  100.4  Pace  80.4  Off ppg  86.8   Def ppg  81.1

DAL – Off rating  106.3  Def rating 102  Pace 81.9   Off ppg  87.2   Def ppg  83.4

Key Players:

Jasmine Thomas – Thomas can get it done in a variety of ways. Dallas gives up about 8 steals a game, and Thomas should grab a few today. I would rather pay up a little for Gray on DraftKings, but Thomas makes a solid option on Fanduel.

Courtney Williams – I won’t have too much exposure to Williams today. The guards on the Sun are a little pricey today. She does have GPP upside, but the guard position is deep with value plays today. I would rather play someone from the Sparks or Liberty backcourt.

Liz Cambage – Cambage is hard to fade on a short slate. LineStar has her projected to score 42.92 points on Fanduel, and 45.90 points on DraftKings. I expect her to stay on the court for more than 30 minutes today, as long as she can stay out of foul trouble. If you want to get contrarian today fading Liz might be the way to go, but it’s a risky move. That said there are plenty of options to pivot to in the paint for Dallas. I think Stevens will get a nice run today.

Value Picks:  Layshia Clarendon (FD & DK) , Morgan Tuck (FD)

Final Thoughts

  1. Don’t worry about leaving money on the table today. A good way to differentiate from the crowd is not to spend all of your salary. Most of the mass entry lineups from optimizers that people will use spend about 95% percent of the salary.
  2. If I’m placing side bets today it’s gonna be on the Sparks covering the spread and the late game going over the point total.
  3. Stacks: LA/NY game (star and value picks from LA, value picks from NY) with a late-game hammer.  DAL/CON game (a few value picks from the paint for DAL, 2 stars from CON, and some value from the early game)
  4. Fades: Tina Charles, Allisha Gray, Alyssa Thomas
  5. Injuries that could impact the slate: Skylar Diggins-Smith (Ques), Epiphanny Prince (Out), Shavonte Zellous (Out)
