The NHL Network continued its “Top 20”  on Monday by releasing a list of the games best wingers and, well, it doesn’t quite match the fan vote.

Whether we want to admit it or not, we love a good ol’ fashioned debate. Arguing is so in these days. So what better way to start a heated discussion than to release a list naming the 20 best anythings ever? They’re such a human thing. Our opinion has to matter and rise above the din because we’re important. Darn it, we need to be heard!

The folks over on NHL Network know this. They clearly have figured out how to rile us up. Simply release a list every week naming the best players at each position and watch us tear each other apart like chimps fighting over the last ripe banana.

Oh, you thought that was enough? How about they go ahead and let fans also have a say, and then put up those votes on a huge board while posting it all across Twitter. Because that’s what they’re doing and no one is stopping them.

Yep, there’s Tom Wilson at No. 18. And … Jake Virtanen at No. 20. Here’s my question: How dare you?

For comparison’s sake, here’s NHL Network’s list:

That’s a fine set they’ve got going there, except maybe for Pastrnak being so low. He’s a true gem and could go a tad higher than No. 14. Let’s go back to the fan vote for a second, though. Virtanen? Really?

We understand the trolling factor here, but to even joke about this and have the gall to hit send while leaving out Mikko Rantanen is not cool. Twitter license revoked.
