AC Milan and Atalanta are both near the bottom of the Serie A table after four weeks. Milan have four points in three games, while Atalanta have four points in four games. The two clubs meet at the San Siro on Sunday, looking to climb up the table.
Milan have had an up and down start to the season. After blowing a lead to Napoli in their first game, Milan defeated Roma but drew with Cagliari. Gonzalo Higuain scored his first goal in a Milan against Gagliari. Gennaro Gattuso is hoping that goal kickstarts Higuain’s season and the Argentina international keeps scoring. Since the start of the 2015-16 season, Higuain has scored 77 goals.
Atalanta have played some very entertaining games this season. In the second game of the season, Atalanta blew a 3-1 lead against Roma, having to settle for a draw. After scoring seven goals over the first two games of the season, Atalanta have been held without a goal over the past two games. Papu Gomez is the best player on Atalanta and will be the focal point of their attack. Gomez has been incredible since the start of the 2016-17 season, scoring 24 goals and adding 26 assists. The Goddess will have to be better in their own end if they are going to compete for Europe again this season. Atalanta have allowed six goals over their last three games.
